For Bodies without Borders A dialogue unfolds between my body in time and space. Struggling with the violent Weather of the present, trembling toward the ground. Finding myself with Others— those who came before me. East, pulling me into a process of discovery. South, scattering fragments and figments of the past. West, straight patterns marking the bodies. North, they form themselves into bodies, not borders, not the end of the land. A swimming body is drifting out into the water. The land itself, here, is becoming a body without borders. The water turns into a body—a body of water. A bog body holding visible and invisible stories spanning thousands of years. It preserves sense and acts as a living archive, inviting engagement in the relational practice of mutual influence and co-creation between human, more-than-human, and elemental forces. I say hello to a swampy, intangible, calm being. A body without borders forms a ground for imagination. Both liquid and solid, becoming, going, unfolding. The land feels like pure sense. Blob, blob, nod, blob, nod as the bog bodies move and settle. They speak of a self-organised system deconstructing and reconstructing constantly. Intra- acting in an ongoing process of becoming. Entities engage through motion, exchange, and transformation. My body is shaped and shapes as it goes. The wind pressure presses into me; I breathe in the Others. The Moss invites my hand; moisture spreads into my skin as I press softly—fragments and figments within, carried by water from one body to another. Thick time is held by bodies without borders, weathering themselves into the rhythm of our currents. Anne Zarske, 2025 Camera: Ruben Dijkstal
